Book borrowing is based on an annual subscription system. Borrowers must be fully paid up members of the library to borrow books. The annual subscription charge of 150 dhs entitles a member to borrow up to eight books at a time for a period of four weeks. No rental charges are levied on books borrowed from the Library.

MEMBERSHIP Borrower: A subscription is deemed to be a family membership. Books may be borrowed by any member of a family taking out a subscription. However, the primary subscriber (Member) is responsible for the care and return of all books borrowed under their membership. See 'The Regulations Page' for full conditions of membership.
RULES AND REGULATIONS A copy of the Library Rules and Regulations is provided to each member on joining the Library. For a copy of Rules and Regulations see the Regulations Page on this website or ask at the Library Circulation Desk for a printed copy.
REINVESTING IN THE LIBRARY The Old Library is a non-profit organisation which is staffed entirely by volunteers. ALL money raised from subscriptions, fines and secondhand book sales is reinvested in the Library to cover operating costs and the regular purchase of new books.
BOOK RETURN DROP BOX A book return 'drop box' is located inside the Dubai and Community Theatre and Arts Center reception area for the use of members who need to return their books outside Library hours. The box can be found around the corner immediately to the right of, and behind,the reception desk. Art Center Reception hours are: Saturday to Thursday - 9 am to 10 pm and Friday 2 pm to 10 pm
