REGULATIONS

    COMMITTEE OF MANAGEMENT

    The Library is run by an elected Committee of Management. Rules and Regulations are set down by the Committee and, where appropriate, ratified at an Annual General Meeting.

    Any adult Member of the library may stand for election to the Committee of Management at the Annual General Meeting.

    THE LIBRARY RULES AND REGULATIONS

  1. Membership is taken out on an annual basis. When membership is renewed it will be dated from the same day and month that the original membership was taken out.

  2. Membership charges are set out in the schedule of Subscriptions and Charges listed on the Membership Page.

  3. Membership cards must be produced to borrow from the Library.

  4. If membership cards are lost they can be replaced for a charge of 10 Dhs each.

  5. Members are responsible for the books they borrow and should return them by the due date stamped in the book. Books returned after the due date will incur a fine. The primary member in whose name the subscription is taken out are responsible for all books borrowed by family members on that membership.

  6. Loans may not be renewed. If books are required for longer than 4 weeks, they must be returned first and then re-borrowed if the book is not reserved by another member.

  7. Fines of 1 Dh per day per book are charged for books returned past the due date.

  8. If a book is lost or damaged it must be paid for or replaced with a new copy of the same book.

  9. Children should not be left unattended in the library, as the librarians cannot be responsible for their welfare.

  10. Library hours are as set. Members who arrive at the end of a session or who are in the library at closing time will be reminded by the librarians on duty that the library is closing.

  11. Membership information is retained in the library and will not be shared with any other organization or individual.

  12. Library membership may be cancelled at the discretion of the Library if members continually return books late or in a damaged condition, or due to inappropriate behaviour in the Library.

  13. Volunteers working in the library must be fully paid up members of the library.
